Guinness World Records 2013: US Great Dane is planet's tallest dog

Zeus, a 44-inch tall Great Dane from Michigan, has been officially recorded as the planet's tallest dog in the latest edition of the Guinness Book of World Records.

The Great Dane, who towers 2.2m (7ft 4") on his hind legs, has been named the tallest dog ever recorded in the latest Guinness Book of World Records launched on Thursday.
Measuring 1.12m from paw to withers – the point between the shoulder blades at which the official height of a four-legged mammal is judged – Zeus is officially the tallest dog in the world, the volume claims.
Guinness World Records 2013 says the towering hound breaks the record of Giant George, another Great Dane who is one inch shorter.

LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK

$1200 REWARD!!!

Quick is a 7 year old male chocolate lab who went missing in Bay Shore, NY during the snow storm. He got out of his yard at 11 pm on Friday 2/8, near the South Shore Mall and Sunrise Highway.

Please help us find Quick! He is a very friendly and sweet boy who loves everyone - 2 legged and 4 legged. If you have seen Quick, please call Tara 631-682-3697 or Mellie 631-383-8903.

Quick is microchipped and was wearing his collar. His tags may have fallen off, we are not sure. So far we have alerted Islip & Babylon shelters, posted on Craigslist, put up fliers at the 3rd Precinct in Bay Shore, both fire houses, supermarkets, gas stations, delis, pizzerias and the post office. We have gone door to door in the area he was lost but no one has seen him.

We are hoping a kind person took him in during the storm and just hasn't seen our fliers or facebook posts yet. Please share this page everywhere so we can get our boy home!

No Fuss Way To Give Pet Meds

Peanut butter has always been a great way the conceal the bitter taste of liquid medication. If you ever run out, try mixing the medication with 1/4 of all natural applesauce. The sweet flavor and smooth consistency will effectively mask the medicine's taste. Plus the apple's fiber and vitamin C make this a healthy snack for about 25 calories.
